Engineers’ day 2025 and Professor P V Bhandary Memorial Oration

V. Bhandary. Held at the M. V. Seminar Hall, the program began with a floral tribute to the visionary founder, Dr. TMA Pai, and featured dignitaries from academia and industry. Dr. Chandrakala C. A heartfelt tribute to Professor Bhandary was presented by Dr. Raghuvir Pai, highlighting his leadership, integrity, and contributions to MIT’s growth. The keynote oration was delivered by Dr. S. Unnikrishnan Nair, former Director of Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre and Founding Director of the Human Space Flight Centre. He spoke on India’s space journey, ISRO’s achievements, and the future of human spaceflight, encouraging students to pursue innovation and entrepreneurship.

Dr. V. S. Venkatesan, international faculty in Biomedical Engineering, delivered a compelling oration on the integration of engineering and life sciences, sharing insights from his five-decade career. Director Cdr (Dr.) Anil Rana reflected on MIT’s evolution and the role of engineers in addressing global challenges. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. B. Raghavendra K.
